Longmen Mountain Crude Ballads and Their Linguistic Features in Western Sichuan

  • The once numerous ballads which can hardly survive the changing times, are disappearing. The combing through the crude ballads among Han and Qiang people around Longmen Mountain in Western Sichuan reveals that such ballads are conspicuously region-specific and language-specific, including their crude discourse and folk oral expression, linguistic brevity, compactness and simplicity, vivid and forward style of sentences.
