The Classification of Ellipsis and Relevant Cognitive Methods on Ellipsis

The paper starts with a brief review of oversea and domestic studies on classification of ellipsis. After analyzing relevant studies on ellipsis, the article attempts to offer the overall view of elliptical studies. Then, relevant studies from salience and ICMs perspectives are evaluated. By reviewing its cognitive analysis on ellipsis, some advantages and available methods applied in the future studies are ushered in.
