From the perspective of philosophical methodology, the paper makes a detailed analysis of the origin and formation of Yin, Yang and the Theory of Five Elements, both being the ancient Chinese philosophical terms. Firstly the paper makes historical literature and time clues as its major arguments. Then it proceeds to brief on the development and application of the two concepts, concluding that both are of great philosophical value and enlightenment in understanding the Chinese methodology of philosophy.
