Ethnographic Translation and Foreign Language Translation of Chinese Minority Literature—A Case Study of Qiang Ethnic Literature

The foreign language translation of the Chinese minority literature is generally carried out by translating minority language into Chinese and then Chinese into foreign language. It is a double translation and a double fusion of horizons of the Chinese translator and foreign language translator. Ethnographic translation, assisted by Oral Formulaic Theory, Performance Theory and Ethnopoetics in Anthropology and Folklore, provides as much as possible ethnographic information and pays full attention to orality and creativity of the minority literature, thus providing new methodological guidance and research perspective for the foreign language translation of the Chinese minority literature.
