Abstract
The image system of Chu Ci is complicated, involving plants and animals, regulations and rules, also self-image, and so on. The famous British sinologists Hawkes translates images with strong emotion. By retaining images, converting images and abandoning images, he tries to reveal ideological content and artistic conception. He also tries to convey QU Yuan's political ideals, spirit of exploration, patriotism and noble character. Hawkes takes disseminating Chinese culture as the purpose and also considers target readers' acceptability, which reflects the tendency of foreignization and cultural horizons of embracing foreign culture.
