On Screening English Naturalism Literature

Who, among English writers, have been influenced by French naturalism and can be incorporated into naturalists, that is, the identification of English naturalism literature, is key to comprehend it. However, we cannot merely depend on the difference between naturalism and realism, or the positivism critic of literary influence to identify naturalism. Therefore, guided by the theory of naturalism and taking into consideration of the definition and characteristics of naturalism novels, we can employ a combined method of aesthetic critic and positivism critic of literary influence to single out several writers as naturalists. These writers, to a certain degree, have been influenced by naturalism, and their works are of conspicuous naturalism style and characteristics.
