Ethnic Origins and Historical Memories of Chinese Australian Culture

  • Compared with the countries with a long history of immigration such as the United States and Canada, Chinese Australian culture belongs to the category of "marginal culture". From Chinese indentured laborers landing in Australia in the 19th century to waves of Chinese immigrants under the global multiculturalism in the 20th century, Chinese Australian culture has experienced ups and downs by collision, adjustment and continuous integration with Western cultures, expressing its ethnic origins and historical memories in a unique way.
