The Water Disputes and Water Resources Management System in the Northern Sichuan of Qing Dynasty

  • In the Qing Dynasty, on the standard of administrative boundaries, the water disputes in the northern Sichuan areas were divided into two types: the water disputes between counties; the water disputes between the various irrigation areas within one country. The water resources management system was to solve disputes, mainly including the principle of watershed and daily business weir management. Establishing the principle of watershed and carrying out the daily service work are an important guarantee of the ordered water conservancy facilities and continuous irrigation.
