Enlightenment of Linguistics Research to the Methods of Literature Research

This paper first examines the developmental routes of linguistics research and literature research, then explores the enlightenment of linguistic research to the methods of literature research from Formalism, New Criticism, and Structuralism, and finally it argues that the theory of literature research originated from modern linguistics, and many linguistic terms, concepts and categories are directly used in the linguistic analysis of literature research, which adds rich linguistic flavor in literature criticism.
