The History and Development of Sichuan Salt Entering Guizhou from Chishui River Basin

  • Sichuan salt entering Guizhou was permitted in Tang and Song Dynasties and developed into maturity during Ming and Qing Dynasties with four large ports of Sichuan salt in Chishui river basin, among which Ren'an Port was the largest one. Sichuan salt entering Guizhou and the salt transportation history and culture in Chishui river basin reflected the history that marginalized Guizhou was gradually put under central administration. The rich historical culture is an important cultural resource for the development of Chishui river basin.
