'Official Education' Prior to 'Social Education'—Su Shi's Thoughts on Social Education

How to strengthen social education and improve the overall quality of the nation has long been the social problem that rulers and scholars greatly concern about.In the Song Dynasty, Su Shi discussed the issue in Ce Bie.In this book, he reiterated that social education was an important national strategy to stabilize the country and educate the people, and put forward the educational target of 'people being satisfied with the virtuous society', then clearly pointed out the significance of prioritized 'official education' and provided the concrete techniques which were advanced in that era and enlightened in practice.
