  • In Han Dynasty, Ba-Shu literature enjoyed its thriving. Many scholars have long been concerning with the regional study of Ba-Shu literature. So far, achievements have covered individual prolific authors, literary groups, history of Ba-Shu literature, and characteristics of Ba-Shu literati from the perspectives of folkloristics and humanism. And chronological study is a new dimension in Ba-Shu literature, which provides a good platform for studies.Diachronically, literary evolution can easily be concluded from chronology; synchronic researches can also be done on the communication, learning and influences between contemporaneous literati.Meanwhile, further study on regional literature is in great need due to the lack of in-depth research and ignorance to many authors and works for centuries. Thus, The chronology of Ba-Shu literature in Han Dynasty takes the concept of literature in a broad sense, embodies all authors available including those who were ignored before and who had only one piece of work; and it contains not only poesy, ode, prose, but also zouyi, inscription and folksong.
