Textual Study on Shu Royal Clan in Ming Dynasty

  • 62 descendants of Emperor were conferred the title of Fan Wang with 50 Fan Wangs' mansions in Ming Dynasty.Shu Wang WaS the only Fan Wang in Chengdu, reigning the province, while other Fan Wangs commonly shared a province. This paper does a textual analysis on Shu royal clan in Ming Dynasty, succession of the royal clan, whereabouts of the descendants, their mansions and tombs, and then, reveals the intricate relationship among the rising and falling of 'the prosperous 270 years of the Fan System', Ming government, royal clans and the grassroots.
