The Anti-poverty Performance Appraisal in Sichuan Minority Regions in the New Century

  • The aid-the-poor work in Sichuan minority regions has been in process under the guidance of China's Rural Anti-poverty Program (2001 to 2010) since 2000. The implementation has achieved remarkable progress with the whole-village advancement, labor service, industry make-up, housing projects, relocation development, small amount of credit, etc. Population of poverty shrinks substantially and the incidence of poverty is reduced; the per capita net income and per capita consumption expenditure of poverty-stricken people gradually increases. What is more, infrastructure construction has been improved further; the scale of subsistence allow ance for rural residents expanded and their medical condition sand health status also gradually improved.
