Textual Research on the Version of Xuanyingyinyi from Which Long Zhang Collected Zishu

  • Zishuis a dictionary recording words used in Wei and Jin Dynasties, and unfortunately failed to hand down in later generations. Xuanyingyinyiis an earliest dictionary of Buddhist scriptures in Tang Dynasty, which has many versions, but mainly Korean version and Qishazang version. Longzhang, a scholar in Qing Dynasty, had collected 182 lost quotations of Zishu from Xuanyingyinyi. According to the different characteristics of quotations from Zishuin the two versions, Long Zhang collected Zishufrom Qishazang version of Xuanyingyinyi.
