Unfortunate affairs——On HHR's Maurice Guest and HG's Mankey Grip

  • Living in different times of two author's works of Maurice Guest and Monkey Grip are concerned with loves which turn out to be impossible. Based on this point, the author of this text, from such aspects as structure of works, plots, character and the portrayal of love affairs among couples of young peoples, has explored out the attitudes of changes of the society that two writers lived – the morality--one is rational and cautious, and the other is perceptual and bold. By deep reading and analysis of these two works, Chester Eagle has helped us readers enjoy the works better.
