This form of expression, though emerging from new media, is rooted in the long history of human exploration and expression in the world of meaning. Interactive narration, from poetry, novels, films, and dreams to games, traverses traditional literary consumption, allowing users to choose plot developments and control characters. This narrative form is unified by a thread of conative narration, linking game storytelling with classic narrative texts and theories, thereby advancing narrative studies.
