Abstract: Though Chengdu has built gates since the late Qin Dynasty, related documents before Ming and Qing Dynasties are almost unknown.This paper mainly presents the historical changes of Chengdu's gates and the causative historical events from Ming and Qing Dynasties to Anti-Japanese War.These changes portray a vivid historical picture of different times, which provides good evidence for the study of Chengdu's history and culture.
