Abstract: There is a close relationship between vocabulary and society. Military families were reduced to the pariah bearing more severe exploitation than civilian families, due to the feudal hierarchy and family status. The creation of the abused word "Lao Bing" reflected the phenomenon of soldier's low status in Wei and Jin Dynasties. The word "Lao Bing" has not been included in the contemporary authoritative dictionaries and it is usually misinterpreted by later generations in fictions of Tang Dynasty.
