Abstract:
The great spirit forged during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression constitutes an important part of the spiritual lineage of the Chinese Communists and a precious legacy of the Chinese nation formed in that historic struggle. At the level of generative logic, Marxist theory provides the ideological foundation, with communist values offering a clear value orientation and the people-centered view of history establishing the philosophical basis. The historical traditions and fine culture of the Chinese nation offer profound nourishment; the pluralistic yet unified structure of the nation strengthens the sense of identity; and cultural genes such as patriotism infuse its spiritual core. The practice of the united front against Japanese aggression provides the concrete historical basis, while the nationwide struggle and the awakening of collective consciousness catalyzed the crystallization of this great spirit. In its contemporary significance, the great spirit of resistance serves as a spiritual force for national rejuvenation, an ideological weapon against historical nihilism, and a spiritual bond that strengthens national identity and belonging. As for the path to sustaining this spirit, it is necessary to strengthen theoretical research, deepen the interpretation of the contemporary significance of the great spirit of the War of Resistance, and enhance its integration into education. Efforts should be made to incorporate this spirit into patriotic education, revitalize memorial spaces, and innovate the presentation of historical sites and exhibitions, thereby providing both theoretical support and practical pathways for advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
