HIRC and Simulation of Nonlinear Ship Autopilot System

Abstract
The relationship between the maneuver of a ship and the characteristics of the rudder was studied using a nonlinear model. A robust controller for ship course was proposed by closed-loop gain shaping algorithm based on the state feedback linearization method. The simulation results obtained from the simulation software Simulink of Matlab show that the designed controller is more effective than the controller based on pole placement.
