Abstract
The principle, structure and output signal of an electronic voltage transformer based on a resistive voltage divider are quite different with that of a traditional voltage transformer. The performance of a resistor voltage transformer will be affected by the resistors and stray capacitance. With the use of a soft software package, the electric field analysis of the resistor voltage transformer is conducted through an FEM 3D model. The shielding and equalizing ring is designed in terms of the electric field distribution. Based on the analysis of electrostatic field, a 10kV electronic voltage transformer is developed and tested. The results obtained from the accuracy test show that the transformer can meet the requirement of IEC 60044-7 and the measurement accuracy reaches class 0.2.
