Analysis of End Surface Temperature Field for Static Pressure Dry Gas Seal

  • Based on thermal equilibrium analysis and simplified model, a solid heat conduction differential equation without heat source for three dimensional stable state in a cylindrical coordinate system is established.The software ANSYS is used to establish the temperature field model of seal pair on static pressure dry gas seal, and the solution to the packing ring temperature field is carried out.The temperature distributing rules of seal pair on static pressure dry gas seal are obtained at the same time.The analysis results show that the temperature of moving ring increases gradually from inner radial surface to outer radial surface and decreases from the seals end surface to the back surface.The temperature of static ring has the same results with moving ring, and the maximum temperature is at the place near the outer end surface.The results indicate that the change of the rotating ring temperature and its thermal gradient is within the specified range, so the configuration of the seal is reasonable.
