Progress in the Research on Insulin Resistance of Offspring Caused by Maternal High Fat Diet Programming

Adult diseases may originate from the impaired nutrition in early life. Accumulated reports suggest that exposure to high fat diet in early life is a risk factor for insulin resistance. This paper summarizes the animal experiment evidences about insulin resistance of offspring caused by maternal high fat diet programming, and discusses the potential mechanism.
