Synthesis of 2-Chloro-N-phenylbenzamide and Research on Its Antifungal Activity

In order to synthesize 2-chloro-N-phenylbenzamide and evaluate its antifugal activity against Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotiua sclerotiorum, 2-Chloro-N-phenylbenzamide was synthesized with 2-chloro-benzoyl chloride and aniline by acyl halide aminolysis reaction.Its structure was confirmed by IR and ¹HNMR.The plate growth rate method was used to test its inhibition rate of growth against R.solani and S.sclerotiorum using carbendazim as comparison.2-Chloro-N-phenylbenzamide showed good inhibitory effect on mycelia of R.solani and S.sclerotiorum.Its IC₅₀ values were 5.00 mg/L and 6.38 mg/L respectively.The synthesized 2-chloro-N-phenylbenzamide will lay a good foundation for researching and developing new plant pathogenic fungicides with high effect, low toxicity and safety to non-target organisms.
