Optimization of Process Parameters for WEDM Based on SNR

  • Due to the extreme complexity of the processing mechanism in WEDM, in which there exsists highly nonlinear relation between processing parameters and processing targets, it is difficult to model the process.In this paper, in order to optimize the processing parameters, an experiment is conducted by using orthogonal testing approach, to investigate the effect of processing parameters such as machining voltage, the number of power amplifier tube, pulse width, pulse interval on the processing targets such as process time, surface roughness.Then the optimal analysis for test results is performed using the SNR to determine the significantly influential factors on processing targets.The study lays the foundation for process modeling.
