Research on Selectionof Pump as Turbine

  • With respect to the insufficient understanding of the effects of increasing flow rate design on pump as turbine (PAT), the low specific speed centrifugal pumps with different increasing flow rate design were calculated in the forward and reverse rotation condition by the Fluent. The results show that with the increase of the coefficient, the head conversion coefficient and flow conversion coefficient are gradually increased, and the flow conversion coefficient is larger than the head conversion coefficient. Therefore, the method of increasing the flow rate is one of the reasons for the uncertainty of the conversion coefficient between the pump and pump as turbine.
