Abstract: Against the background of forging a learning-loving society, all-life education becomes increasingly important. Therefore, it's necessary to develop autonomous learning ability for students, particularly undergraduates. Based on the survey via a questionnaire about art majors' present situation and understanding of autonomous English learning, some suggestions are offered for teachers to cultivate students' autonomous learning ability in their teaching practice.
