Abstract:
In this paper, the engine fueled with methanol-gasoline M15 and gasoline was researched in the dynamic performance, the economy, the emission and the noise. The experimental results showed, the dynamic performance of the engine fueled with methanol-gasoline M15 is better than that fueled with gasoline, the fuel consumption for vehicles fueled with Methanol-gasoline M15 working under limited conditions and traveling with constant speed is a little higher than that fueled with gasoline, the emission when idling is less than that fueled with gasoline, the acceleration running noise level is the same when fueled with the two types of fuel. The major cause leading to the changes in the vehicle performance is the difference of the physical and chemical characteristics of the two types of fuel.
