Abstract: In overall damage calculation for structures, the weight coefficient of the weighted combination method will directly affect the computation accuracy.For this reason, in accordance with the shear-type frame structure, the weighted combination method is proposed on basis of energy and damage index.This method and the conventional method of weighted combination are compared in a project in this paper.The results show that this method can comprehensively consider hysteretic energy, and damage index of each floor, and unsubstantial layer and other factors, which can be used as reference for engineering designers.
