纤维状β成核剂对聚丙烯非等温结晶动力学的影响

The Effect of Fibrous β Nucleating Agent on the Nonisothermal Crystallization Kinetics of Polypropylene

  • 摘要: 明晰纤维状β成核剂作用下聚丙烯(PP)的非等温结晶过程,对提升PP的力学性能至关重要。本文通过控制自组装β成核剂TMB-5为点状和纤维状形态,对比研究纤维状TMB-5对PP非等温结晶动力学的影响。结果表明:实验条件下,TMB-5不仅可使PP择优形成β晶,还可促进PP在高温成核,提高PP的结晶速率;不同于点状形态,纤维状TMB-5诱导PP冷却结晶时,α晶易在β晶生长前端异相成核,打断初始晶体的生长,使PP表现出非典型的3段生长模式和相对更慢的结晶过程。

     

    Abstract: Understanding the nonisothermal crystallization process of polypropylene (PP) under the presence of fibrous β nucleating agents, is essential to improve the mechanical performance of PP. In this paper, the self-assembling β nucleating agent named TMB-5 was controlled to form point and fiber like morphology, and the effect of fibrous TMB-5 on the nonisothermal crystallization kinetics of polypropylene was studied via comparative research method. The results illustrate that TMB-5 can not only impose PP forming β-form crystals, but also help nucleate PP molecules at high temperature and enhance its crystallization rate. Moreover, unlike the punctate pattern, when fibrous TMB-5 plays the role to control the formation of PP crystals upon cooling, α-form crystal prefers nucleating on the growing front of β-form crystal, which may in turn break the development of initial crystals. As a consequence, the crystallization process is relatively slow, and exhibits an atypical three-stage growth mode when TMB-5 self-assembles into fibrous pattern.
