Abstract: Hot-wire anemometer is a commonly used to measure fluid velocity in the field of aerodynamics, but it is not widely used in China due to its high cost. Based on the theory of convective heat transfer, a low-cost constant temperature hotwire anemometer is designed in this paper. Its dynamic response frequency is as high as 15 kHz and the average measurement error is less than 0.03%. The feasibility of this design was verified by measuring the turbulence intensity and boundary layer velocity of the plate.
