Abstract:
With the advancement of digital technology, industrial digitization has emerged as a crucial driver for enhancing the resilience of industrial chain. This study, utilizing provincial panel data from 2013 to 2021, examines the impact of industrial digitization on the resilience of China's manufacturing industry through the use of a double fixed effects model and a mediating effects model. The findings reveal: firstly, the resilience of China's manufacturing industry has significantly benefited from the effective advancement of industrial digitization, a conclusion that remains robust after a series of stability tests. Secondly, technological innovation serves as a vital mediating mechanism through which industrial digitization fosters resilience in the manufacturing sector. Thirdly, the influence of industrial digitization on the resilience of China's manufacturing industry exhibits significant regional and temporal heterogeneity. Based on these findings, the paper suggests that China should promote the digital transformation of industries, further dismantle market segmentation, facilitate the rational allocation of innovative resources, enhance the scale effect of industrial digital empowerment, and thus promote the enhancement of manufacturing resilience.
