Abstract: A cement silo with tube structure was seriously damaged in "5.12" Wen chuan Earthquake.Based on the evaluation results and the actual condition of the cement silo, cylinder wall was strengthened by means of pasted steel plate along the crack while circular beam was strengthened by means of haunched beam.Partial concrete structure was strengthened by means of repairing crack.In consideration of technical feasibility, construction cycle and project construction cost, the construction procedure of strengthening was also introduced in this paper.It provides future similar projects with useful reference.
