Abstract:
Objective/SignificationThe choice of rural residents' eldercare patterns decides whether our country can adapt to the system of eldercare patterns for aging population. Moreover, the supply for pension services has a great impact on the choosing will of eldercare patterns of rural residents, so it is meaningful to study the relationship between the supply for pension services and choosing will of eldercare patterns of rural residents.
Method/ProcessThe research has done a sample investigation in 11 districts of Jiangxi province and obtained the data from 660 samples. Based on these data, the paper makes an empirical study on the relationship between the supply for pension services and the choosing will of eldercare patterns of rural residents by using Multinomial Logit Model.
Result/ConclusionThe results show that the supply for pension services has statistically significant impacts on the choosing will of eldercare patterns of rural residents. In addition, the factors, such as age, education and new rural pension scheme have significant influences on the choosing will of eldercare patterns of rural residents. This indicates that the improvement of supply for pension services is an important factor to form the pension model system which adapts to the aging trend of rural population in China.
