Abstract: The seed industry is a strategic, foundational and core industry of the nation, acting as a pivotal force for safeguarding food security and underpinning the high-quality development of national agriculture, while technology finance serves as an important resource to support the growth of seed industry technology enterprises. Therefore, researching the mechanisms and innovative pathways of technology finance in supporting the growth of such enterprises has become a crucial research topic. First, this study analyzes the intrinsic mechanisms through which technology finance empowers the growth of seed industry technology enterprises, namely by optimizing resource allocation, alleviating information asymmetry, balancing risks and returns, and ensuring capital supply. Second, it sorts out the restrictive factors of technology finance in supporting the growth of these enterprises, which are mainly reflected in four aspects: the difficulty of mortgage financing caused by the light-asset characteristics of the enterprises, insufficient supply of long-term patient capital, weak policy coordination among the three sectors involved in agricultural technology finance, and an underdeveloped risk guarantee system. Finally, it proposes innovative pathways for technology finance to support the growth of seed industry technology enterprises from the perspectives of developing innovative financial products and services, fostering long-term patient capital, coordinating policy synergy in a holistic manner and constructing a risk management system, thus providing support for breaking the financing bottlenecks of seed industry technology enterprises and strengthening their technological innovation capabilities.
